Mateo's Favorite Spots for Grub and Good Drinks
Mateo made his musical breakthrough in 2009 with the release of his live EP, “Get to Know Me: Live at Swing House” under MySpace Records. Though his first mixtape, “Underneath the Sky” gained rave reviews, it was "Get to Know Me" that caught the attention of music lovers around the world. The singer-songwriter’s distinctive voice and skills on the keys eventually caught the eye of Kerry “Krucial” Brothers, the highly regarded record producer responsible for most of Alicia Keys' musical catalog. In many respects, Mateo is the male version of Alicia Keys, tapping into a sound that is all his own while avoiding the cliches of some contemporary R&B songs, which feature a catchy beat and sex-drenched lyrics but little substance. Now signed to Interscope Records and the Krucial Noise imprint, Mateo is hard at work on his debut album. After visiting the VIBE headquarters in New York to play exclusive tracks off his not-yet titled album (to be released second quarter of 2013), Mateo shared some his favorite spots to drink and get his grub on.

Wet Willie's
MIAMI - "Wet Willie's is where to go for the cheap drinks that will get you messed up real quick."
Editorial Review
College hotspot that attracts anyone who is down for a damn good (and cheap) drink. Wet Willie's diverse selections of frozen liquor drinks are both alluring and addictive. With fancy names like "Call a Cab" and "Attitude Improvement," you won't even know where to begin. Choose your poision wisely--some are far too potent to handle. Great for a night out with friends, just before you hit the beach.
