Six Places Celebrities Should Be Thankful For
With hefty bank accounts, stardom, and an endless well of critical praise, celebrities have much to be thankful for this holiday season. But when you have everything, it’s easy to become jaded and unappreciative of all the joys wealth and status bring. After all, they can fly aboard private jets to their destinations of choice, and ring up restaurant tabs that cost more than most people make in a month. Whether as rich and famous as Jay-Z and Beyoncé, or Diddy and Russell Simmons, stars can often lose sight of why they shine so bright in the first place. Just in case they need some not-so obvious reminders of their blessings, VIBE compiled a list of some celebrity-favorite venues they should be thankful for.

Barclays Center
NEW YORK--No one is more thankful for the Barclays Center, Brooklyn’s new star-studded arena, than rap mogul Jay-Z. Not only does he have creative influence on the business, but it’s conveniently located in his home city. He even put on an eight-day concert run to christen the world’s newest arena, with a little help from his wife, Beyoncé. The gathering of celebrities and Jay’s stamp of approval made Barclays an instant hot spot. Jay’s star power brought some of his industry friends and associates across the Brooklyn Bridge, including Rihanna, Chris Brown, Magic Johnson, and Star Jones.
Editorial Review
After much hand-wringing and arguing about eminent domain, the Barclays Center is now open, having been christened by no less than Brooklyn legend Jay-Z. At a capacity of just over 18,000, it's big but somehow feels cozy, unless you're in the nosebleed seats way the hell up there. Concessions are the best, with everything from sushi and chicken wings to barbecue from Fatty 'Cue. Rivers of beer and liquor, and not just the cheap stuff either. Laser beams and fancy lights, of course, yet somehow it feels a bit stripped down, in a good way. The focus is on the show.
