Tichina Arnold's Favorite Stores and Restaurants in NYC and LA

compiled by Gerren Keith Gaynor
Tichina Arnold, best known for her breakthrough role as Pam on the hit 1990s sitcom Martin, has a penchant for entertaining. After memorable roles in such films as Big Momma’s House and a 15-episode run on the sitcom One on One, Arnold returned full-time to her comedy roots in 2005 with Everybody Hates Chris, a sitcom loosely based on the childhood of comedian Chris Rock. Now, the funny actress is toting her talents as a singer to TV Land’s Happily Divorced, with Fran Drescher. Though she plays a single, aspiring singer on the show, in real life she’s happily married to St. John's University basketball coach Rico Hines. VIBE chatted with the multi-talented entertainer and got her to share a few of her favorite restaurants and shops in her place of residence, LA, as well as her hometown of New York. Find out why she thinks one restaurant’s secret ingredient is crack (yes, crack), and which department store she frequents so often they greet her by name.

Crustacean

LOS ANGELES: "I love Crustacean's garlic cracked crab. The owners are from a Korean family who escaped from war, and the mother had an ancient recipe that was passed down through the generations. No one other than the family can know what the ingredients are. It's so good I think they put crack in it. I crave it twice a month at least. I also like the garlic noodles."
Editorial Review
Koi stream underfoot, reed fans, mellow terrace. Zen broken by noisy, stuffed room and aloof service. Primo spot to eat like Vietnamese royalty, which owners, the An family, happen to be. Food slays its numerous haters though they are correct about prices and scandalous surcharges. For seven bucks, we'll crack our own highly addictive Dungeness crab in pepper garlic sauce, thank you. No wonder regular Wesley Snipes has money worries.
