Trina Braxton Talks Business and Must-Go-To Spots in ATL and LA

compiled by Gerren Keith Gaynor
Since gaining an enormous fan base as the co-star of Braxton Family Values, Trina Braxton has turned her TV success into a budding music career and business brand. Braxton (the younger sister of Toni Braxton) has since released the music video to her pop-dance track, "Party or Go Home," and is set to open a clothing boutique in Atlanta. “It’s very affordable for the average chick,” she tells VIBE. In addition, Braxton will be releasing her new single, "Game Time," next year. “The song is about the female version of a sports fan; girls tying their hair in a ponytail, putting on a jersey, and enjoying the game.” The singer-songwriter, who sang background for her older sister, has become a star all on her own—but family always comes first. Braxton will be returning for the show’s third season where she says she has reunited with her husband and focuses on motherhood, music, and her business ventures. Interesting fact: she’s a licensed mixologist, and can be seen mixing concoctions on her weekly YouTube webisodes. Find out where the self-described party girl likes to dine, shop, and get her drink on in Atlanta and LA.

Nuevo Laredo Cantina

ATLANTA - "I love Mexican food. One of my favorite alcohols is tequila. My favorite Mexican restaurant is Nuevo Laredo on Chattahoochee. They have the best margaritas on this earth aside from my own. I don’t like a lot of sweet mixers with my tequila and I don’t use too much of the sweet and sour mix. I use natural lemons and limes which is better for you anyway. Their margaritas have less calories and they’ll make them the way you want them to."
Editorial Review
Neighborhood dwellers and young professionals enjoy this off-the-beaten-path cantina. While the location may not conjure up images of stellar dining, Nuevo Laredo has managed to spin straw into gold making this local joint worth the drive. Sure, the wait can be long enough to make you keel over, but the enchiladas, salsa and margaritas more than make up for it.
